Since 2019 Athina Lekas Cornell has been recognized by the Super Lawyers as a leader in her respective area of practice.

No more than 5% of attorneys in the State of New Jersey are honored with being included on the Super Lawyers list. Only 2.5% of attorneys are selected to the Rising Stars list. The Super Lawyers list utilizes a patented selection process that includes peer nominations, independent research and peer evaluations. The same process is utilized for the Rising Stars list, but the candidate must be either 40 years old or younger or in practice for 10 years or less.

Sciarrillo Cornell is pleased to announce the addition of Anthony E. Russo, Deirdre D. Macchia and David Tonda to the firm.  “We are excited to have Anthony, Deirdre and David join our growing team,” said co-founder and partner Anthony P. Sciarrillo.  They are an “important part to our ability to provide our clients with the service that is expected from our firm.”  Prior to joining the firm, Anthony worked as a litigation associate in New York City, where he represented not-for-profit entities as well as residential and commercial landlords. He earned his J.D. from Seton Hall University School of Law in 2019, and his B.A. summa cum laude from Fordham University in 2016.  He is admitted to practice in both the State of New Jersey and the State of New York. 

Deirdre D. Macchia is a 2021 graduate of Albany Law School of Union University and a 2017 graduate of Syracuse University where she received her B.A. magna cum laude.  While attending law school, Deirdre served as a law clerk to the New York State United Teachers for two years.  She also served as President of the Sports and Entertainment Law Society and as a Student Ambassador for the Admissions Office at Albany Law School.  Deirdre’s bar exam results are pending.  

David N. Tonda received his B.A. in Political Science and in Jurisprudence as well as his M.A. in Law and Government from Montclair State University.  Prior to working with Sciarrillo Cornell, David served as a real estate paralegal at a New York City firm.

A NEW ATTORNEY AND LAW CLERK JOIN SCIARRILLO CORNELL

Sciarrillo Cornell is pleased to announce the addition of W. Connor Kimmel and Rakiah N. Bonjour to the firm.  “We are excited to have Connor and Rakiah join our team,” said co-founder and partner Anthony P. Sciarrillo.  “We know that they will be an asset to the firm and that they will help us continue to expand our services to our clients.” Connor served as a law clerk to the Honorable Jodi Lee Alper, PJ.Ch. in Essex County where he performed legal research on probate matters, foreclosures, business dissolutions, and a variety of other legal issues.  He earned his J.D. from Rutgers Law School in 2019, and his B.A. from Monmouth University in 2016.  He is admitted to practice in New Jersey. Rakiah received her J.D. from Seton Hall University School of Law in 2020, and her B.A. from Iowa State University in 2017.  Rakiah’s bar results are pending. While at Seton Hall, she worked as a student attorney for the Center for Social Justice where she successfully defended clients in court against harassment charges, and drafted pleadings, discovery documents, and motions. Rakiah also served as the Comments Editor of the Seton Hall Legislative Journal.
